Location highlights

The Ayrshire Coast & Turnberry Resort

The Turnberry Resort is located on the Ayrshire Coast in southwest Scotland. The resort is located right on the coastline; and the small town of Girvan is just a short taxi ride away. Some may have a hard time leaving this world class resort, but others may want to experience the local culture--at Turnberry you can choose. The resort has recently undergone a total renovation; we are sure you will find it a memorable and comfortable stay.

St. Andrews & The Old Course Hotel

The small but lively town of St. Andrews will be your base of operation for the last four nights of your trip. St. Andrews is famous as the "Home of Golf" and for the their University.

The entire town is accessible by foot and you will not run out of shops, restaurants and pubs to explore.

The golf courses are all within easy access of this historic town. You will be within walking distance to The Old Course & The New Course. The Castle Course and Kingsbarns are 10 and 20 minute drives, respectively.

The Old Course Hotel is quite simply "the" place to stay in St. Andrews. Located on the 17th hole of The Old Course and overlooking the Home of Golf--it is the finest hotel in St. Andrews. Our experience has been that there are those who stay at the Old Course Hotel-- and those who wish they would have.

 

Itinerary highlights

Day 1: Thursday, June 21st

We have several early arrivals touching down in Scotland throughout the day.

We have a series of drivers meeting your flights to transport the early arrivals to the South Beach hotel in Troon. By early evening there will be six of you checked into your Troon area hotel.

Colleen and Ellen - fly from your Minneapolis to Glasgow, Scotland overnight. Spend the night at 35,000 feet.

 

Day 2: Friday, June 22nd

• Early Arrivals--breakfast and checkout from the South Beach Hotel. Your driver will collect you at 10:00 am for the short drive to Turnberry.
• Ellen & Colleen-- a different driver will meet you at the Shannon airport Arrival Hall and transfer you to Turnberry.
• Check in: If rooms are not ready you can store your luggage and freshen up.
• Warm up round on the Kintyre Course at Turnberry (first tee time 1:15 pm)
• Overnight at Turnberry Resort

 

Day 3: Saturday, June 23rd

• Breakfast  at the hotel 
• Golf on the Ailsa Course at Turnberry - host of four Open Championships (first tee time 11:10)
• Evening at leisure
• Welcome dinner at Wildings Restaurant
• Overnight at Turnberry Resort

 

 

Day 4: Sunday, June 24th

• Breakfast at Turnberry Resort & Check-out
• Depart Turnberry for the 2-1/2 hour drive to St. Andrews and the Old Course Hotel
• Check-in for a four night stay
• Golf at St. Andrew's Jubilee Course (first tee time 1:12 pm)
• Evening at leisure
• Overnight at The Old Course Hotel

  

 

Day 5: Monday, June 25th

• Breakfast at The Old Course Hotel
• Golf at St. Andrew's Castle Course (first tee time 9:30 am)
• Evening at leisure
• Overnight at The Old Course Hotel

 

 

Day 6: Tuesday, June 26th

• Breakfast at The Old Course Hotel
• Depart for a short 20 minute ride to Kingsbarns
• Golf at Kingsbarns Golf Club (first tee time 10:00 am)
• Evening at leisure
• Overnight at The Old Course Hotel

 

Day 7: Wednesday, June 27th

 Check The Old Course off your bucket list!

• Breakfast at Hotel
• Golf at St. Andrews Old Course (10:30 am & 11:10 am)
• Farewell Dinner at Dunvegan Restaurant
• Overnight at The Old Course Hotel

 

 

Day 8: Thursday, June 28th

Departure Day

• Driver will meet you at Front Drive of the hotel for a 90 minute transfer to Edinburgh Airport.
